Does the measurements of 2,250,000 square miles have any particular significance to you? Or put another way, does a cube the size of 1400 miles in all directions have any significant meaning to you? Perhaps it should.
In the book of Revelations we find the description of a new city descending from God out of heaven. It is called the new holy city of Jerusalem. This takes place after the old heaven and earth have disappeared. This new holy city of Jerusalem is described as being in a cube, as wide and high as it is long. The size will be 1400 miles in each direction. The walls of the city measure 216 feet think. An example of the size of the city is that if placed upon the present United States it would stretch approximately from the eastern seaboard to the state of Colorado. Another way to look at the size of it is if equated in square miles the size of the new city would be approximately 2,250,000 square miles. Revelation says this city is to be the Home of God among His people.
Did you know that the original Mt. Hope Church building faced west up the Cartoogechaye Creek. It was later turned to face approximately the same direction as the present church. See The Church History for more details.
